Information for clients who are reserving an in home lactation consult: 

Congratulations on the birth of your baby! We look forward to seeing you for your home visit lactation consult.


Here you will find information that will be helpful as you prepare for your upcoming lactation consult:


On our FAQ page we explain what to expect during and after the appointment, questions related to insurance reimbursement, etc.

Please review all of this information and let us know if you have any additional questions or need clarifications. 


Please complete and submit all intake forms prior to your appointment.

On the day of the appointment:


  • Please do not clean your house for us! 

  • Your baby should be ready to eat - try to feed him or her about two hours before your scheduled appointment.  But please don't worry if you need to feed again sooner for any reason - we need a happy, hungry (but not frustrated and starving!) baby

  •  Any “tools” you might be using - your pump, nipple shield, etc. should be clean and readily available

  • If you are using supplemental feeds, please have a bottle (or whatever method you are using) of expressed breast milk and/or formula ready

  • Any questions or concerns: It can be helpful to write them down in the time leading up to your appointment

  • Please minimize distractions during the visit. We understand that sometimes that can be difficult in your own home but please know we have a limited time to work together and want to make sure all of your questions are answered.

  • Payment: 

    • $50 deposit is non-refundable if consult is cancelled within 24 hours of scheduled visit. We do offer the option to reschedule but availability is limited. For self-pay clients, the remainder of the consult fee ($165) is required at the time of the appointment and can be remitted in the form of cash, check, or credit card. We can provide you with a coded invoice to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.  Please inform your lactation consultant if you would like an invoice. For clients using your insurance benefits, there will be additional charges beyond the $50 deposit fee.  We will contact you after we receive your EOB (explanation of benefits) if any cost-sharing has been applied.  For the vast majority of plans there will be no additional charges.  Please read on our FAQ page for more information about insurance.

              We currently offer home visits in a 10 mile radius of our office at 915 Haddon Ave in Collingswood. Please see map below                 for zip codes included in our service area.  Consult may be available outside of our service area but additional travel fees will               apply.  Please contact us for more information.
